As a first time intern at Neurons Asia , it’s safe to say I did NOT expect my first meeting to go like this.
When my lovely supervisors Shahirah Abdol Raman and Mohd Ridzuan Mat Zin let me know we had a scheduled meeting with Standard Chartered, I remember thinking that I should not speak or ask any questions and make myself as small as possible.
What I did not expect was the complete opposite. I remember feeling so grateful as what I thought would be a serious corporate meeting with a strict agenda become a safe space for me to actively contribute! I observed as ideas became plans on how jobs can become more accessible to the neurodivergent and Persons With Disabilities (PWD) community
Because accessibility shouldn’t feel like a choice but something that’s already part of the system.
The best part about it all is we’re not alone in this ! I look forward to creating meaningful change with our friends at Standard Chartered 💛
