Where Did the Time Go? Understanding Time Blindness at Work

If “five minutes” sometimes turns into “oops, an hour,” you’ve had a small taste of time blindness. For many with ADHD, it’s a daily reality — not poor time management, just a brain that experiences time differently.

And when we understand that, everything changes. Instead of labelling someone as “always late” or “disorganised,” we start asking: how can we help them thrive?

A few small shifts go a long way:
⏰ Make time visible — clocks and reminders.
⏰ Make time fun — music cues or playful timers.
⏰ Make time sensory — feel, see, and hear time pass.

Because empathy isn’t just awareness — it’s action. And that’s how we build workplaces where every mind, from ADHD to Dyslexia, can think differently and belong brilliantly.

Shoutout to the amazing PETRONAS Neurodiverse Centre of Excellence (NCOE) team for their brilliant visual reminding us that time feels different for different minds — and that’s okay.
