As a\u00a0first time\u00a0intern at\u00a0Neurons Asia<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0,\u00a0it’s\u00a0safe to say I did NOT expect my first meeting to go like this.\u00a0\u00a0

When my lovely supervisors\u00a0Shahirah Abdol Raman<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Mohd Ridzuan Mat Zin<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0let me\u00a0know\u00a0we had a scheduled meeting with Standard Chartered, I remember thinking that I should not speak or ask any questions and make myself as small as possible.\u00a0\u00a0

What I did not expect was the complete opposite. I remember feeling so grateful as what I thought would be a serious corporate meeting with a strict agenda become a safe space for me to actively contribute! I\u00a0observed\u00a0as ideas became plans on how jobs can become more accessible to the neurodivergent and Persons\u00a0With\u00a0Disabilities (PWD) community\u00a0\u00a0

Because accessibility\u00a0shouldn’t\u00a0feel like a choice but something that’s already part of the system.\u00a0\u00a0

The best part about it all is\u00a0we’re\u00a0not alone in\u00a0this !\u00a0I look forward to creating meaningful change with our friends at Standard Chartered\u00a0\ud83d\udc9b\u00a0\u00a0
