I’m really pleased to have completed one month of my internship with Neurons Asia
As I look back on January, I’ve gained so much exposure to observing how to better accomadate for the neurodiversity and person with disability community with our friends at standard chartered, University Putra Malaysia, Bridging hope and PERKESO
its also been really amazing to start working and collaborating on research in regards to learning more about neurodiversity
Despite all the great moments I’ve had this month, I wanted to be honest with myself and reflect on the not so great moments too 🙂
I’ve always thought that applying neuro-inclusive practices to real life situations is really straightforward until I truly observed all of the factors that need to be considered, the adaptions that needed to be made and even then there’s still a chance that things won’t be a right fit.
My biggest takeaway is that to embrace and accomadate neurodiversity – we need to constantly keep learning.
There’s always newer research coming out and after interacting with the neurodiversity community I’ve realised they’re always finding new ways to help.
I hope to do the same 🙂
I wouldn’t have had such an indepth experience without my supervisors – Shahirah Abdol Raman and Mohd Ridzuan Mat Zin if they hadn’t exposed me to the real world in such a safe way.
